134 : Bee on purple stalk
If Jill were here I'd ask her what these pruple plants are called, but she's not, so I'll have to go back and edit it in later. Really like these purple frizzy blooms, especially against the warm colors of the lucifers and Cosmos. Thought the bee added a bit of wildlife to it (if insects count as wildlife?)

133 : Pink lily corner
132 : Lucifer with lily backdrop
This Lucifer was kind of hanging out all by itself, so I wanted to get a picture of the bloom. I thought the pink and yellow of the lily would add a bit of color, and came out with this! Think the detail on the Lucifer as probably as good as I've gotten... I can't really get any closer or zoom in any further...

130 : Cosmo side on yellow
The cosmos always grab my eye when I first walk out front to take photos. And it's hard to pass them by without taking a few shots... really love how this one turned out with the stark purple against all the yellow. Love that the center of the bloom turned out so crisp. Think the stem and that little leaf in the bottom right add some interesting shapes to the frame.

124 : Three clematis petals
Looks like the clematis is on its way out (or its not just getting enough water) but too be safe I thought I'd get some photos of it. Just liked this one with the blue backdrop. Really think it's interesting that when the sun hits the petals, they can practically become white to the eye, so it's neat that the petals curl and double-back to give the petals some purple edges.

120 : Highlighted lily stamen
Really like the angle of the sun on this one... it was low enough to hit only the top of the stamen, with the rest blocked out. Think it really brings out the yellow and black, and makes the inside of the plant kind of glow. Think the petal on the right turned out pretty nice as well, especially against the green.

118 : Peach lily
Jill pointed out this peach lily, and even added a few water drops while she was watering. Love the colors, form the more neutral peach to the yellow highlights and green shadows. Think the texture on the stamen and the left petal turned out pretty crisp. Think even the shadows add a bit of interesting shapes, mimicking the stamen.

116 : Yellow tiger lily
Now there's a yellow tiger lily out with the purple and pink ones, and took a handful of photos of it. Really like how the shadow turned out on the bottom petal... really brings out the texture of it. Love the sparkle on the right petal as well. Can't believe how bright yellow these photos turn out.

115 : Back of lucifer on lily
Thought one of the lilies made for an interesting backdrop for this one bloomed Lucifer. It seems hard to find just a single Lucifer bloom (most stalks have more than half of the buds bloomed) so I was glad to find this one alone. Love how the petals have a kind of sparkle to them (might have to zoom in to see it) and love how the yellow stem turns into red petals.

113 : Little grasshopper
Was out shooting the lilies when this little guy showed up. He just landed there and seemed pretty content to stay, so I got a handful of shots of him here. Think it turned out pretty interesting... not only the grasshopper but also the petal itself. Usually I focus on the stamen which often leaves the petals a bit out of focus, so neat to see the texture and detailed colors of the petal itself as it goes from yellow to pink.

111 : Side of pink lily
Really love how this one turned out. Although a lot of the times I think the shot is weaker because of the depth of field blurriness, I think it really makes things interesting in this one... especially the stamen and the right petal. Love how the colors turned out as well... gotta love the clear skies.

110 : Watered yellow day lily

109 : Lucifer on blue
Finally, the Lucifer has bloomed... albeit just one bloom for now. Actually I think it's pretty interesting that way, with the single bloom and the row of shrinking buds. Love that with a blue sky to shoot against I can get a nice range of colors from blue to red. Can't wait to shoot more of this guy.

108 : Purple lily corner
Just really love all the colors in this shot... the bright yellow and cool purple, with the vibrant green always make for an interesting shot. One day soon I think I'll get a shot of just some of the petals, as I think they're pretty interesting themselves... especially the change from yellow to purple.
